This small museum in an 18th-century Marais mansion presents the municipal collection of  art donated by the founders of the Samaritaine department store. The collection highlights the Age of Enlightenment with drawings by Watteau, paintings by Boucher and Fragonard, pastels by La Tour, and porcelain from Saxony.

Opening Hours: Daily except Monday from 10am-6pm (last admission 5:30pm). Closed for certain holidays.

Tickets: Free entrance to the museum.

Info and Services: Coat check-in is free. The formal French garden is minimalist but pleasant.

Heather's tip: Just a stone's throw from the Musée Carnavalet (and much, much smaller), this pretty little museum is rarely full, and can be visited in less than an hour.
