Amour Hôtel

Hôtel Amour
8 rue Navarre, 9th.
Tel 01 48 78 31 80.
Mº Pigalle

www.hotelamour.com  (usually doesn't work, sigh)

Do you like it naughty without being seedy? Are you a hipster who doesn't balk at vintage nudie magazine covers decorating your hotel room? Do you want to be off the beaten tourist track but in the center of Parisian activity? Is service more of a bonus than a necessity when you travel? Are you getting the idea? This budget designer hotel just off the trendy Rue des Martyrs was created by a hipster team of artists and nightclub owners looking for a place to send their friends. The funky rooms individually decorated by local avant-garde artists, and the brasserie and garden on the ground floor have become a hangout for the locals. The best part is that the prices are democratically bohemian. This means there are no typical amenities -- no TVs, no A/C, no phone in the rooms, and no minibar -- but  you do get Khiel's toiletries and bragging rights for being so with it.

20 rooms, restaurant/bar, public WiFi. Doubles from €120.

What is the story with Hotel Amour's website? The address appears to be dead. Is the hotel still open? If so, do you have an email address?

Thanks,

Their website has never really worked, although it used to at least have an email and phone. The hotel is open, and they only take reservations by phone. Here is a good review written in October: http://travelinsider.qantas.com.au/hotel_amour_paris.htm

I would certainly like to see the world especially romantic Paris as it has been my heartiest desire.
