"Compact et bijou", this jewel box of a hotel decorated by Jacques Garcia is intimate, cozy, and luxuriously appointed -- just don't bring anything bigger than a carry-on bag! Located on a side street in the Marais (next to Mariage Freres tea room and the Lizard Lounge bar/club), this is the least expensive establishment in the Costes Parisian hotel empire. No bar, no restaurant, just a theatrical setting to get a good night's sleep. Scented candles, subdued lighting, rich fabrics, and a mix of Oriental and Gothic architectural touches. Royal blue paint and red velvet line the narrow halls, and rooms are barely bigger than the beds. Every inch has been upholstered, tasseled, and draped in stripes, florals, and medieval motifs. Be sure to request one of the rooms with a bath, where Byzantine alcoves hide mosaic-tile tubs.

29 rooms, 1 suite, Wi-Fi .  Doubles from €220.
