A contemporary design boutique hotel in the popular Rue Cler neighborhood, the Cadran features a “clock” theme (the antique grandfather clock from the formerly old-fashioned hotel adds a touch of warmth to the somewhat minimalist lobby). Rooms are bright and tidy, which helps make up for their tiny size. Superior rooms have king size beds. All have flat-screen TVs, free WiFi access, oversize mirrors, and shower or bath. The largest room is the junior suite. But forget about the rooms, because the real draw (at least for chocoholics like myself) is the newly opened gourmet chocolate bar and boutique in the lobby, run by the young pastry chef Christophe Roussel. Two different flavors of hot chocolate, macarons in over a dozen flavors, and little chocolates to suit any taste (photo below, with David Lebovitz).

Standard doubles from €150-€240; superior rooms €180-€270.

40 rooms, 1 suite. Elevator, safe, A/C, minibar, hair dryer, soundproofing.

Chocolate bar closed Monday.

A very neat hotel with its exceptional signature chocolate bar. The hotel is very stylish and contemporary, and very close to the Eiffel Tower and Champ de Mars park!

Stayed here for 3 night in May 2010 after reading Heather's review.
Very stylish and modern hotel. Front desk staff are exceptional.
Next to rue Clear and a short walk to a great bakery on the corner.
