my boyfriend's place is in renovation so we had to stay at a hotel and i followed your suggestion of the Five, as they had some promotional rates (although the internet rate was still almost 200 euros).
5 stars to room interior design, it was defintely Philip Stark standard at a lesser price. i am quite picky with perfumes and the ones they have in the room are really first rate.
we also tried the vietnamese restaurant, which is ideal if you want a simple quality meal without having to go far.
we also were in need of a late dinner so we walked up to the Closerie des Lilas for a Brasserie meal, a short stroll away.
also tried the Japonese cake shop at the corner and while the cakes were good but not earthshaking, the little chocolates filled with ganache that look like an artist's palette were fantastic (except for the Strawberry one which is some quite of accident as the ganache inside is pink and tastes like strawberry yogurt, yik).
the day i left, they had your book at the reception, they had just received it and were apparently not aware that they were in your guide. i told them that i came through your blog.
i also went to the Curio Parlour, excellent cocktails but i found the downstairs too small and cramped (upstairs was full). i'll try the ECC next time.
thanks for your excellent recommendations

Thank you for such a wonderful comment on the Five Hotel. Since you made this review we have done some renovations and doubled are commitment to unique stays for vacationers to Paris. We now offer customized aromas and unique lighting in each of our rooms. I wanted to say that we are focusing our efforts to educate individuals on our Hotel in the Americas with http://www.thefivehotel-paris.com whereas http://www.thefivehotel.com is for Europe and other countries not part of the Americas.
Again thank you for such a wonderful review.
Sincerely,
David Kartuzinski
